Genesis chapter 3 describes mankind’s dilemma after the Fall and our need for recovery. This same chapter also clearly communicates God’s plan to redeem man to Himself through the Gospel.
Route1520 is built on the firm belief that individuals cannot change through mere willpower or simply learning Biblical principles and trying to carry them out. We believe that change takes place within community as we take the Gospel of Jesus Christ more deeply into our understanding and into our hearts. This process is a journey and not a quick-fix formula.
True heart change takes place in genuine, transparent community and cannot be done in isolation. Route1520 Recovery Groups are for individuals struggling with pornography and sex addiction as well as their spouses. Our groups offer a place for individuals to find support, care, direction, and prayer in community with fellow strugglers. The shame which drives addiction begins to dissapate as individuals allow themselves to be fully known by other members of the group.
We currently have physical groups in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Cullman, Ohatchee, and Decatur AL; Columbus, GA; Indianapolis, IN; and Chattanooga, TN. If you are interested in joining a group or want more information, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
EMBARK Men’s Recovery Intensive
Route1520’s EMBARK Men’s Recovery Intensive is designed to jump-start the recovery process for those dealing with addictive and compulsive sexual behavior. Recovery Intensives include teaching and small group interaction designed to not only help curb acting out behaviors, but to also understand the pain and shame that drive them. Our desire is to help strugglers grow emotionally and spiritually as they learn to bring our loving and merciful God into their pain.

Route1520 is in the process of producing online courses that uncover the Gospel within the traditional 12-steps in a systematic approach. These Courses will be available late summer 2012.
Through our Recovery Groups, Recovery Intensives, and online Courses, Route1520 seeks to create a culture of authenticity and transparency where individuals can be free to connect at weakness and not feel the need to impress with strength.
